The beauty of this early morning scene is deceptive. Hills appear to float on clouds, but this 'fog' is a toxic mix of dust and smoke from burning waste – a harsh reality in Baghdad.

The famous Al-Rasheed Street in Baghdad is still full of the legacy of its ancient civilization, represented by people who have lived through decades of Iraq’s history extend back to the royal era, to tell us stories that we cannot find in any other book.

Treasures in the Gulf

Assim grew up under his father's care on his farm on the banks of the Shatt al-Arab that had great favor for Asim to be one of the four Iraqi divers working in the so-called surface supply diving.

And with his sculpture talent, which he inherited from his father, Assim took advantage of the remnants of wood from sunken ships in the Gulf and animal bones that he found in diving trips to sculpt them and turn them from scrap into a valuable piece of art bringing back to people's minds the bright side of the Arabian Gulf which its name has always been associated in recent decades with wars and political conflicts, so that people have forgotten what it contains of invaluable and treasures.
